THE WOODLANDS, TX – All of the school districts that in some way impact The Woodlands – Conroe ISD, Tomball ISD, and Montgomery ISD – are celebrating Spring Break at the same time: officially March 11 through 15, which – when adding in the surrounding weekends – makes for nearly ten full days of school-less fun for families.

Whether you’re a parent or student, there’s something for you

Whether you’re planning on loading up the car and heading out of town for a well-earned vacation, or staying in town to work business as usual and needing extra activities for the kiddos, there’s plenty happening in The Woodlands area to fill your needs.

City Place has family-themed events nearly every day over the break. Their International Women’s Day Art Exhibit is on display through the 21st of this month, designed to entertain and educate audiences of all ages. They’ll also be hosting their ‘Pix on the Plaza’ outdoor film series including kids’ classics like Willy Wonka. They’ll even have a special Bubble Day on March 8. Closer to town center, Market Street has Spring Break events all week and weekend long

If you’re into old-style games, you’re still covered. Every Friday, The Adventure Begins hosts ‘Bring Your Own Board Game Night,’ where you and the entire family can play along with others across a host of classic board games. On Sunday the 10th, Learning Express Toys has a special Pokemon Trade & Play event, hosted by some true Pikachu detectives and other experts.

There are lots of opportunities for altruists as well. Want to check out some cool cars and feel good doing it? Hit A Show for a Cause at the Shadowbend YMCA, a car show benefiting Y Teen L.I.F.E. If you really want to commit to a cause, hit The Goose’s Acre for their 18th annual St. Baldrick’s Day celebration and shave your head in support of kids with cancer.

Naturally, there are Day Camps galore. But some local camps are hyper-specific and catered to your kiddos’ particular needs and skills. Maybe they’ll want to learn to skateboard. Or enjoy the intricacies of fly casting. Learn to Bot is hosting a free coding class for the teen techie. Or perhaps some early superhero training is desired at Woodlands Sportsplex’s Gymnastics & Tumbling Clinics.

Not all live music is reserved for adult-only venues; we happen to have a couple of live music opportunities for the entire family. For instance, kick back to the ‘80s with Flashpoint at Concert in the Park at Northshore Park on the 10th, or The Tracy Perez Band on St. Patrick’s Day. Over at the Woodlands Waterway, their concert series includes a concert by Nervous Rex.

For the budding artist, Painting With a Twist always has something for grownups, but this week they have some special ‘ages 12 and up with a parent’ classes, including a cute ‘Hide and Seek’ group painting event.

If you want to dress up and meet a special guest, Picket Fences will be hosting photos with the Easter Bunny on each Friday and Saturday over the break. Or if you want to get dirty and mussed up in an event that even the family pets can enjoy, check out Soggy Doggy Swim Day.

When in doubt for what to do with the kiddos, you can never go wrong with The Woodlands Children’s Museum. Every day they’re open, they have amazing events. For instance, check out the cloggin’, stompin’, Riverdancin’ stylin’ of the McTeggart Irish Dancers.

These are but a small fraction of what is available for you and the family this Spring Break season. Be sure to check out our comprehensive Spring Break Guide, which includes a full list of day camps on top of other fun events.
