THE WOODLANDS, TX – Though the week began under a dark cloud – actually, an entire sky filled with them – and we had to deal with downed trees and slick roads, things have brightened considerably for this weekend, just in time for some great events.

Enjoy the weekend, indoors or out

The humidity factor is currently in free fall, drying the air up as the temperature soars from last night’s low in the 50s all the way to a decent high of 82 degrees. A couple of clouds will dot the mostly sunny sky, and a gentle breeze hovering around 5 mph will keep things nice and relatively cool. Talk about some perfect sports-watching weather: come see the War of the Woods in action as The Woodlands High School takes on College Park, and if you can't make it in person, watch our livestream. Though the overnight low will eventually hit 54, we’ll keep in the 60s even through midnight tonight.

Overnight we’ll see some clouds wander in as the humidity again takes an upswing, but your streets will definitely be safe from flooding and your trees will easily handle the near-zero winds. Saturday daytime, however, will see an upsurge in breezes – topping out in late afternoon at around 15 mph – and another dip in humidity.Once again, we’ll have a high in the mid 80s with nothing added to the heat index. This is the time to head outside and enjoy the magnificence of The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, running all weekend.

The hours between Saturday night and Sunday morning will be serene and comfortable with a low of 62, with more clouds moving in but sans precipitation. The perfectly springlike weather will hang around all Sunday, with moderate breezes, humidity, and cloud coverage. Now’s your chance to fully enjoy the Montgomery County Fair & Rodeo. Again, the overnight low will be in the 60s, nudged along by falling pressure and a rising dew point.

As Monday dawns, however, things may slowly – but surely – take a turn for the wetter.

Stay tuned for weather updates from Woodlands Online, and be sure to check us out on Monday for our “Week Ahead” forecast.
