Passing and Funeral of Detective James Blackwell

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of our colleague and friend, Detective James Blackwell. James passed away on Saturday at his home unexpectedly from a medical episode. James was a dedicated peace officer to his community and served over 24 years of law enforcement.

As we reflect on this tragic news, let us keep his family in our thoughts and prayers. In these moments of grief, we find solace in scripture and share the words from Psalm 34:18 - The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

The service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Fellowship of Montgomery, located at 12681 FM 149, Montgomery, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The service will be streamed on our social media channels for those unable to attend.
