SPRING, TX -- July is heating up at north Houston’s City Place, where a range of family-friendly programming will take place on and around the central Plaza at 1250 Lake Plaza Drive – Spring, TX 77389 throughout the month.

A new, complimentary concert experience, Hot Night, Cool Grooves debuts on Saturday evenings – July 6, 13, 20 and 27 – from 6-9:30 pm. Guests can anticipate a lively showcase of popular regional artists from a variety of genres. Seating is open, and blankets and low-profile lawn chairs and are welcome.

In its ongoing commitment to presenting innovative, site-specific installations, City Place has commissioned Austin-based artist and musician Steve Parker to create a new experiential journey for guests. The pop-up piece “Invisible Music” debuts July 20 and utilizes repurposed brass instruments to orchestrate a symphonic meditation on nature in picturesque City Place Park. The sculptural brass pieces are re-engaged to a soundscape adapted from French composer Eric Satie’s “Furniture Music” and set against a sonic backdrop of nature sounds, including insects, birds and bats, within native fauna and flora. Additionally, a series of interactive sculptures placed in the greenspace surrounding the pond can be activated by participants, altering the overall musical composition. Open to the public and free of charge, “Invisible Music” can be experienced daily from 7 am until 10 pm through September 15.

The Peach Truck rolls into City Place on July 21 from 4:30-6:30 pm. Visitors can pre-order the famed, fresh-from-the-orchard peaches for pick up or purchase a box on site while supplies last. To preorder visit www.thepeachtruck.com, enter zip code 77389, select City Place. Twelve pounds boxes are priced at $45 each.
