North Houston’s City Place Rings in the Holidays With Annual Tree Lighting and Giant Gingerbread Village Opening

SPRING, TX -- City Place is thrilled to kick off the holiday season with its Annual Holiday Tree Lighting and Giant Gingerbread Village unveiling on Friday, December 1, from 3 to 7 p.m. This festive event is free and open to the public, offering a delightful evening filled with holiday cheer, family-friendly activities, and unique art installations.

The centerpiece of the celebration is the stunning, floating 35-foot Holiday Tree, which will illuminate City Place Park’s main pond. The countdown to the tree lighting will be complemented by a visit from Santa Claus, a curated holiday market, and a variety of interactive activities, including face painting, balloon twisting, and holiday crafts for kids sponsored by Harmony Schools. Guests can also enjoy a snow play area, a DJ spinning festive remixes, and a hot chocolate bar by Common Bond Bistro & Bakery.

Adding to the seasonal magic, City Place will debut its signature Giant Gingerbread Village. This enchanting installation features a gumdrop-and-lollipop-lined path guarded by two giant gingerbread men, leading to a whimsical clearing with cookie trees, a 16-foot gingerbread house, and a 12-foot windmill. Designed by the creative minds behind Houston’s Seismique interactive art museum, the Gingerbread Village is a must-see holiday attraction.

Also debuting this season are larger-than-life holiday-themed art installations by renowned Houston artist Anat Ronen. These whimsical pieces include a 3D mural wall, oversized gingerbread figures, snowmen, candy canes, ornaments, and more, offering countless Instagram-worthy moments throughout City Place.
