The Woodlands Fire Department Responds to Vehicle Collision with Entrapment
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Shortly before 9:00 AM today, The Woodlands Fire Department and Montgomery County Hospital District responded to a serious vehicle collision with entrapment at the intersection of Lake Woodlands Drive and Kuykendahl Road.
An SUV traveling northbound on Kuykendahl lost control and struck a stopped vehicle on Lake Woodlands Drive. The SUV subsequently came to rest on its side in a wooded area, entrapping the driver and one passenger.
Units BC102, TK105, E107, and Medic 24 arrived promptly on the scene and initiated extrication efforts using specialized tools. Firefighters successfully extricated both occupants through the rear hatch of the overturned vehicle.
During initial assessments, the driver reported the possibility of an additional occupant who was unaccounted for. Crews conducted an exhaustive search of the area, with Rescue 101 arriving to assist by lowering the vehicle from its side for a thorough inspection underneath. The search concluded when it was determined that the reportedly missing individual was safely located at their school and had not been involved in the incident.
Both occupants of the SUV were transported by EMS to a local hospital for further evaluation. There were no significant complications during the rescue.
The Woodlands Fire Department commends the swift and collaborative efforts of all responding personnel, ensuring the safety of those involved and minimizing further risks.
