THE WOODLANDS, TX -- At approximately 10:45 AM today, The Woodlands Fire Department was dispatched to a water rescue on Lake Woodlands following multiple 911 calls reporting an overturned kayak near the Ritz Carlton construction site. Callers indicated that two individuals were struggling in the water.

Firefighters responded swiftly, accessing the area from both Aria Island and the nearby construction site. Upon arrival, crews were able to quickly locate the two kayakers. A rope throw bag was deployed to reach the individuals, allowing responders to safely pull them ashore.

Both kayakers denied injury and explained they had accidentally flipped their kayak and were unable to right it in the water.

Rescue Boat 106 was deployed to retrieve the kayakers and their overturned craft, transporting them back to their entry point at Hughes Landing.

Thanks to the rapid response of The Woodlands Fire Department, both individuals were safely rescued without injury.
