THE WOODLANDS, TX – Vonlane, a company that provides ‘elevated regional bus transportation for discerning travelers,’ recently unveiled its newest service – from The Woodlands to Dallas – at a ceremony filled with industry and community leaders at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott.

Innovative transportation company welcomed to the Township with grand opening at the Waterway Marriott

Vonlane founder and CEO Alex Danza joined members of Visit The Woodlands – the official convention and visitor’s bureau – The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Township Board along with dozens of members of the community at the Marriot’s foyer with a luxury bus parked out front.

“This is really exciting. This is a great addition to not only our community, but also the business community. To keep our folks traveling safely and efficiently, and getting there in a method where they can be productive on the way, is a huge win for all business people in The Woodlands,” Aaron Cox, president and CEO of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, told Woodlands Online.

Danza spoke with Woodlands Online about the maiden launch of this new connection between The Woodlands and Dallas.

“We kick off tomorrow morning with our first trip out of here at six o’clock in the morning. It’ll go to Dallas nonstop right to the DoubleTree Love Field right in the heart of Dallas, ten minutes away from every major artery where you need to be. Twenty-two luxury, first class seats with full reclines and leg rests, with an attendant aboard every trip serving you soft drinks, coffee, tea, snacks galore, neck rests, and blankets and pillows if you need them. If you forgot your iPhone charger, we have you covered. If you need it, just name it; we even have lens cleaners for your eyeglasses and Advil if you have a headache. We’ve got everything you could possibly need to have the most comfortable trip ever,” he told Woodlands Online.

“Later in the day we’ll serve salad or a wrap from a large selection. For leisure travelers, it’s the perfect way to relax and watch some shows; I’ve seen people balance their checkbooks and pay their bills. Business travelers are pounding away on their laptops, and one guy told me for the first time ever he got down to a ‘zero inbox,’ Danza continued.

Besides the already-mentioned on-board cabin attendant, reclining seating, and complimentary snacks and beverages, the bus voyage includes other amenities such as no middle seats, complimentary wifi, complimentary baggage check, 110-volt electrical outlets at each set, and noise-canceling headphones.

The process of making The Woodlands the latest luxury depot originated several years ago with Elizabeth Eddins, executive director of Visit The Woodlands.

“Vonlane has been a transportation mode for Texans for a long time,” she told Woodlands Online. “I actually took a ride on one in 2019 for a business conference. I’d had to drive the opposite direction for 45 minutes to get on the bus just to pass back by up this way to get to Dallas. The whole time I was thinking that we need this for The Woodlands. We’re always looking out for more and better ways to get visitors, business attendees, and conventioneers to and from Dallas and The Woodlands as quickly and easily as possible. So we were able to reach out to Vonlane and started a relationship. Unfortunately, the COVID outbreak in 2020 made us take a pause, but finally the time was right and here we are today.”

The Woodlands Waterway Marriott will have an upgraded lounge / waiting area for passengers to ensure comfort before you even get on the bus. Though rates vary by date and time, passengers can expect to spend less than two hundred dollars for a one-way seat and less than three hundred for a round-trip venture.

Eddins continued, “If you’re attending a concert at the Pavilion, if you’re shopping, if you’re attending a conference or doctor’s appointment, if your kids are going to college, now all you have to do is put them on a Vonlane. We’re crossing our fingers that next will be a Vonlane route from The Woodlands to Austin!”
