Veteran of the Week - Kristine Marlow

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- This week’s Veteran is Kristine Marlow, who served in the U.S. Air Force, from 1988-1992. Kristine was an Aerospace Physiologist, which is a very important job making sure that the pilots and aircrew were in the best physical shape to be able to handle the rigors of flight. She studied the effects of flight on the human body, which is very technical. She also did operational testing of chemical warfare defense equipment and life support equipment. Kristine was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base near Wichita Falls, Texas, where she met her husband. They were also stationed at Eglin Air Force Base near Fort Walton Beach, Florida. After her service, Marlow stayed home with her children, and as they grew older, she volunteered at her church's food pantry during the pandemic, and saw the public’s need for food assistance skyrocket due to job loss from the shutdowns. An opportunity soon arose at the Montgomery County Food Bank five years ago, where she is now President and CEO of the organization. Good Luck Matthew, and Congratulations on being ‘Veteran of the Week’.
