YMCA After School Care Program Expanding into Conroe Area Schools. Parental Input Requested

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The YMCA makes the most of your child’s after school time by offering active learning opportunities designed to engage and expand young minds. Housed in local schools, YMCA After School Care gives your child the opportunity to participate in active play and collaborate on fun projects. But YMCA After School programs are more than childcare. They offer a path with a purpose. Students engage in a variety of structured activities that promote positive social interactions, indoor and outdoor play and reinforce academic learning concepts, as well as lessons in empathy, inclusion and service learning. Care is provided on site at the school campus, Monday – Friday, from school dismissal – 6:30pm.

In our continued efforts to support the Conroe families, the Woodlands Family YMCA, in partnership with Conroe ISD, is excited to share that we are planning to expand and launch after school programs at additional campuses in the Conroe area through a phased approach. To ensure sustainability, each site must demonstrate viability with a minimum of 15–20 students expressing interest in order to proceed.

Below is a link to a parent interest survey. We need your support in promoting this survey out to the families at the below schools as this will be key in determining whether the program can be offered at your campus! Survey deadline is September 1st.
