Glowing Tribute
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- When service members take an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution, they know they may be asked to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect the values and freedoms we all share. And many do. Over 80,000 service personnel are still missing from previous conflicts since WWII. You Are Not Forgotten is the central theme for the POW-MIA Recognition Day that honors American prisoners of war, as well as those still missing in action and their families. This day is commemorated every year on the third Friday of September – September 19th this year.
VFW Auxiliary 12024 invites all members of the community to contribute a Glowing Tribute, honoring these brave warriors, who have not yet returned to their families.
To contribute a Glowing Tribute, simply light a candle (flame or flameless) any time in September, place in a window, take picture and email it to the Auxiliary at aux12024glowingtribute@yahoo.com.
We hope to collect many tributes for our valiant heroes!
