October Brings Halloween Magic, Family Fun and Fitness to North Houston’s City Place

SPRING, TX -- Fall has arrived at north Houston business and leisure destination, City Place, and October is filled with festive fun, seasonal surprises, plus a continued lineup of community-minded fitness and family programming. All activities take place on and around The Plaza at 1250 Lake Plaza Drive and are complimentary unless otherwise noted.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Pix on The Plaza takes a spooky turn on Saturday, October 11 with a screening of Tim Burton’s cult classic The Nightmare Before Christmas (PG, 1993). Before the movie lights up the big screen at 7:15 pm, guests can meet the spooky-but-sweet Mr. and Mrs. Skellybones starting at 5:45 pm. The evening is presented by The Somerlyn Group.

City Place continues the Halloween spirit with Spooky Storytime with Wednesday on Saturday, October 25. Guests can enjoy back-to-back story sessions at 3:30 and 4:30 pm, perfect for little ones who love a seasonal tale with a playful twist.

Beloved children’s entertainer Mr. Leo returns on Sunday, October 19 with a Special Halloween Puppet Show. Performances at 11 am and 12 pm bring his signature puppetry and humor to the stage with an extra festive theme that is sure to delight.

Rounding out the month, Ora Studios hosts Coffee & Pilates on Sunday, October 19 from 1 to 2:30 pm. Guests can energize with a guided Pilates session followed by coffee and conversation. A rainout date is scheduled for Sunday, October 26 from 2 to 3:30 pm.

RECURRING PROGRAMMING

Weekend warriors can take advantage of Band Sculpt every Saturday—October 4, 11, 18, and 25—from 9 to 9:45 am, followed by Yoga on The Plaza from 10 to 11 am.

Soccer Shots continues its weekly Wednesday camps on October 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29. Designed to build both soccer skills and character, sessions for children ages 2–3 take place from 4:30 to 5:10 pm, followed by ages 3–5 from 5:10 to 5:50 pm. Paid registration is required.

Young Audiences of Houston returns every Thursday—October 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30—with its engaging Dance and Movement program. Littles (ages 3–7) meet from 5 to 5:45 pm, while Bigs (ages 8+) gather from 6 to 6:45 pm. On Saturday, October 4, the organization also presents a hands-on Screen Printing Workshop from 11 am to 1 pm.

Video Game Theater is back on Sunday, October 5 from 11 am to 1 pm, while the Texas Bubblers Master Wrangler Station brings its mesmerizing, oversized bubbles to The Plaza on Sunday, October 12 from 10 am to 12 pm.

On Saturday, October 18, the colorful Fun Bus rolls in from 9:30 to 11:30 am for kids 18 months to seven years. Inside the 35-foot, refurbished school bus, enthusiastic instructors lead games, obstacle courses, and themed activities.

To close out the month, Toddler Time with Miss R takes place on Sunday, October 26 with interactive performances at 12 pm and 1 pm.
