Lone Star College System enrollment continues to climb with 6% year-over-year growth

More than 97,000 students are enrolled in classes at Lone Star College System for the fall 2025 semester.

HOUSTON, TX -- Lone Star College System’s enrollment is at an all-time high this fall, with 97,294 students taking a total of 205,175 courses, according to Official Day numbers reported 12 academic days after the start of the semester. Enrollment is up 5.9% from fall 2024 and about 15.9% higher compared to a decade ago.

“We celebrate the fact that more students are choosing to call Lone Star College System home. However, our primary focus is not on boosting enrollment but on improving student outcomes through high-quality education,” said Seelpa Keshvala, Ph.D., LSCS Executive Vice Chancellor, Academics. “As the system continues to grow, we will continue to evolve to meet the needs of our students and the communities we serve.”

At Lone Star College System, students can learn from award-winning faculty as they pursue degree programs, workforce training and academic transfer opportunities close to home.

In the fall 2025 semester:

  • 29,860 students are new to the system
  • 32.5% of students are full-time; 67.5% are part-time
  • 28,955 students are taking Dual Credit courses
  • 4,652 students are veterans
  • 492 students are in the Honors College
  • 46% of instruction is face-to-face; 44% is online; 9% is hybrid
  • 31.3% of all students receive financial aid

“Regardless of their background, we want to help our students get from where they are to where they want to be,” Keshvala said. “We are striving to remove barriers, increase retention and completion, and embrace innovation to inspire growth and excellence in higher education.”
