CONROE, TX -- In August 2025, detectives from Constable Ryan Gable’s Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Unit received information indicating that Jon Paul Sheptock, a 49-year-old man from Conroe, Texas, was in possession of and involved in producing child sexual assault materials, including videos and images of a child under 18 engaged in sexual conduct. Detectives from Pct. 3 conducted a comprehensive investigation and established substantial probable cause to charge Sheptock with Promotion of Child Pornography, a third-degree felony. On September 26, 2025, a search warrant was executed at Sheptock’s residence as part of the ongoing investigation. However, Sheptock was not present when Pct. 3 detectives arrived. They managed to locate him in Gatesville, TX, and contacted the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) for assistance in apprehending Sheptock. He was found at the Dr. Lane Murray Unit Prison in Gatesville, where he was providing ministry services to inmates, and was taken into custody by DPS.

During the investigation, Pct. 3 detectives discovered that Sheptock was employed as a Worship Minister at the First Montgomery Baptist Church in Montgomery, TX. He is currently being held in the Coryell County Jail, awaiting extradition to Montgomery County.

Given the position of trust Sheptock held with his employer, Pct. 3 detectives are urging anyone with concerns or information regarding Sheptock to reach out to (281) 364-4211 and request to speak with a detective.
