Road Trip: Zombie Survival Hike Game Night at Huntsville State Park

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife has announced a fun event for the entire family to get a jump-scare jumpstart on Halloween. This Friday, October 24 from 7 - 9 p.m. at Huntsville State Park, they will be hosting the Zombie Survival Hike Game Night, an interactive event that half entertains and half educations, teaching you how to gather what supplies are left and learn about the essentials to have in the outdoors.
In the game scenario, you are a survivor in a camp. However, supplies are running low, and a horde is on its way. You must get your pack and gather what little supplies there are before setting off into the night for the next quarantine zone. Along the way there will be challenges and scenarios. Will you have what you need to survive or join the undead?
This is a family-friendly event. And survivor groups will be leaving in quick intervals between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Nothing will be missed if you arrive after 7 p.m.
Around the camp will be helpful survivalists with information and activities like building emergency shelter and learning about filtrating water.
This program is partially accessible. Parking and sidewalks to the main area, the trail is one of our smoother ones, however it is unpaved. The program is free, and park entrance fee will be waived after 6:30 p.m. for the event. Please wear weather/activity appropriate gear and bring a headlamp/flashlight. This program is weather dependent, so stay tuned to Woodlands Online for updates.
