Governor Greg Abbott Reappoints Tammy McRae to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Board

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Montgomery County Tax Assessor-Collector Tammy McRae announces her reappointment by Governor Greg Abbott to the Board of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), where she currently serves as the Vice-Chair.

“I am honored to be reappointed by Governor Abbott to continue serving the people of Texas through the TxDMV Board,” said McRae. “It is a privilege to work alongside my fellow board members to ensure that vehicle services across our state remain efficient, secure, and customer focused.” The department manages vehicle titling and registration, dealer regulations, and grant programs aimed at reducing vehicle burglary and theft.

McRae serves as the Tax Assessor-Collector for Montgomery County and has built a distinguished career in public service. She is a member and former president of the Tax Assessor-Collectors Association of Texas (TACA) and represents TACA as a director on the Texas Property Tax Education Coalition Board.

Originally appointed to the TxDMV Board in 2019, McRae has played an active role in advancing policies that improve motor vehicle services statewide. Her continued leadership as Vice-Chair reflects her ongoing commitment to accountability, innovation, and service to Texans.
