From the 70s to the 50s: Three days of stormy, winter weekend weather in The Woodlands and what to do in it
THE WOODLANDS, TX – If you were one of those complaining last week that it was still too warm for the onset of the holiday season, congratulations; you apparently jinked us into having a stormy, cold long weekend post-Thanksgiving. The rains are about to start tonight any moment now, and are slated to last pretty much through Monday. While we’re going to spend the next several days grey and damp, this weekend in particular is going to inspire event promoters and attendees alike to think on their toes.
To put it in perspective, tonight’s low temperature will be warmer than Sunday’s high temperature. We’re already pretty much at complete cloud coverage, and you won’t get a good glimpse at the Milky Way until Tuesday night. Winds will kick up to 15 miles per hour or higher, making the dropping temperatures and falling rain that much more cold and diagonal. Saturday’s high temp will be 13 degrees warmer than 24 hours later, and you can expect some low temperatures next week to be in the 30s… not quite freezing, but getting close.
For Friday night, it’s not too late to release some pent-up aggression – perhaps Black Friday was a little too crowded for you – by heading over to Escape in Time. While their escape rooms are reservation-only for the rest of the evening, you can still enjoy some axe-throwing until 11 o’clock. Flex your skills as you obliterate wooden targets for only $35 per person per hour-session.
Saturday, you can expand your mind while keeping your body away from the wintery elements. How’d you like to find out if, indeed, you’ve been through this before? Body & Brain - Magnolia is hosting a Group Past Life Regression Journey with Beth Mulhollan. Experience a group guided meditation to explore past, present, or future lives and connect with your soul’s wisdom. Using guided meditation / gentle hypnosis, Beth will guide you beyond the busy chatter of the mind into a peaceful, relaxed state where your soul takes the lead. Whether you experience scenes from a past, future, or current life, your higher self will reveal exactly what you’re meant to see. No prior experience is needed – just bring an open mind and curiosity. Relax… your soul is in charge.
Let it storm outside on Sunday; you can still enjoy some outdoorsy activities in the comfort of being indoors at The Woodlands Ice Rink. Glide into the magic of the holiday season with some indoor ice skating at the 21,000 square-foot facility, located next to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The Ice Rink offers birthday parties and rink rentals, plus ice skating lessons! Book your slot right now and enjoy a winter wonderland away from the rain and wind.
On Monday, the precipitation is expected to continue unabated, and perhaps you’ve taken an extended weekend through the evening; or perhaps you just want to get out of the house with the loved ones but don’t know what to do. Well, go no further than the brand new Kevin Brady Library and Community Center on Grogan’s Mill and S Millbend for The Woodlands Township’s Family Game Night! Come unwind with others in your boat for an evening of laughter, light snacks, and lively games. This is your chance to connect with fellow game lovers in the community. Expect good company, great energy, and a whole lot of fun!
