SPRING, TX -- On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office successfully apprehended a suspect involved in a Bank Jugging incident that had just occurred in the Spring area.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a 911 call from a victim who reported that after withdrawing a sum of money from a bank, he drove to a location in Spring to complete a purchase. Upon his arrival, an unidentified male suspect approached his vehicle and took the cash from the vehicle before fleeing the scene. The victim had been followed from his bank in New Caney.

A coordinated, multi-agency response immediately commenced to locate the suspect. Law enforcement personnel from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Splendora Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and Precinct 4 Constables established a perimeter. Canines and drones were deployed to assist in tracking the individual who began running from law enforcement on foot.

The suspect, 20-year-old David Tramaine Florence, was located within the established perimeter and was subsequently taken into custody without further incident. This suspect is also believed to be involved in other criminal incidents and this investigation is on-going.

Sheriff Wesley Doolittle would like to thank all of the agencies that assisted us today. “Together, we are better. We will continue to take a strong stance against crime and will not allow bank jugging to take root in Montgomery County.”
