New Caney Theft Investigation: Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office Searching for Suspects After Brookshire Brothers Tobacco Barn Cigarette
NEW CANEY, TX -- Deputies with the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office are investigating a theft that occurred at Brookshire Brothers Tobacco Barn, located at 20065 U.S. Hwy 59 in New Caney, TX.
On December 22, 2025, just before 10pm, deputies were dispatched to the business in reference to a theft in progress. Deputies working the #SafeShopper program, were on scene in less than 3 minutes. Investigators believe two Black male suspects arrived in a white Jeep Compass. The vehicle appeared to have a cloth covering the rear license plate and no front license plate. Both suspects were reportedly dressed in black. The suspects entered the store, placed multiple cartons of cigarettes into a plastic bag, and then fled the location. They were last seen traveling westbound on FM 1485 before leaving the area.
Investigators also believe there may have been an accomplice: a Black female who entered the store a few minutes prior to the theft. She was described as wearing a jacket with “JUICY” printed along the bottom.
The Montgomery County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office is asking anyone with information to contact us, including anyone who may have surveillance video from nearby businesses or dash camera footage showing the white Jeep Compass or its license plate in the area around the time of the incident. If you have information, please contact the Montgomery County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office at 936-538-5900.
Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden said, “If you think you can roll into Montgomery County, and target our businesses, you picked the wrong place; understand this: we will identify you, and we will come find you. Our deputies are already working this case, and we’re asking the public to help us put names to faces and a plate to that vehicle.”
#SafeShopper is an extra-patrol program funded by the East Montgomery County Improvement District (EMCID) that puts additional Montgomery County Pct. 4 deputies in busy shopping areas during peak seasons to deter theft, respond quickly to calls, and help keep shoppers and employees safe.
