Smoke Incident at The Woodlands Waterway Restaurant Quickly Contained

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- At approximately 11:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, The Woodlands Fire Department responded to a report of smoke inside Cyclone Anaya’s, located at 20 Waterway Avenue.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed that restaurant staff had safely evacuated all patrons as a precaution. Crews conducted an investigation and traced the source of the smoke to a malfunctioning HVAC system. Firefighters opened portions of the ceiling and performed significant overhaul operations to fully extinguish a smoldering fire associated with the system.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Damage was limited, and there was no extension of fire beyond the affected area.

Cyclone Anaya’s plans to reopen on Wednesday.

The Woodlands Fire Department commends the restaurant staff for their quick actions and reminds businesses and residents to promptly report any signs of smoke or fire to ensure swift response and safety.
