MCSO SWAT Team Arrests Wanted Felony Fugitive

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- On January 7, 2026, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Operators, deputized as Task Force Officers with the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, arrested wanted fugitive Benita Salas Olvera.

Olvera, 43 years-of-age, was arrested on a Felony Warrant for Assault of a Pregnant Person out of Montgomery County.

Her adult son, Jose Miguel Olvera, was also arrested for Hindering Apprehension/Prosecution of a Known Felon for hiding his mother from police.
Both mother and son were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Montgomery County Jail.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office commends the professionalism and precision of its SWAT Operators for safely bringing these individuals into custody. This successful arrest also reflects a decade of strong partnership with the United States Marshals Service, working side by side to ensure fugitives are brought to justice and our communities remain safe.
