Montgomery County Two Alarm Fire Sends One to Hospital
CONROE, TX -- At around 2:30 PM today, Firefighters from the Montgomery Fire Department, (Montgomery County ESD 2), were dispatched to reports of a fire in a residential building in the Walden Community near Lake Conroe. Crews from Station 54 in Walden were on scene very quickly and reported fire and smoke coming from a condominium complex in the 3200 block of Poe Drive.
One person on scene was suffering from smoke inhalation and was transported by MCHD EMS. Initial reports indicate that the injured victim may have been a construction worker but that has not been confirmed at this time.
Additional crews responded from MCESD 2 and the City of Conroe on the first alarm assignment. A second alarm was sounded shortly after their arrival bringing in additional crews from Montgomery County ESD 3 as well as more from MCESD 2 and the City of Conroe. Suppression and overhaul operations are continuing as of 4 pm.
Investigators from the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office are enroute to both the scene and the hospital and will be conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
