Magnolia Police Department Responds to Welfare Check Incident
MAGNOLIA, TX -- On Saturday, February 1, 2026, the Magnolia Police Department responded to a welfare check in the parking lot of Brookshire Brothers. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male deceased inside a vehicle.
At this time, there is no indication of foul play. As with all unattended deaths, the Magnolia Police Department will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the final cause and manner of death.
The department is also aware of rumors circulating in the community and would like to clarify the following:
- No shots were fired, and there was no vehicle fleeing the scene related to this incident.
- Waller County authorities did conduct a pursuit of a stolen vehicle along FM 1488. Magnolia Police Department assisted briefly as the pursuit passed through the city; however, this incident was not connected to the death at Brookshire Brothers.
