Constable’s Deputy - Involved Vehicle Pursuit Leads to Arrest
SPRING, TX -- On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a deputy with Constable Ryan Gable’s Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on a white, four-door Chevrolet near the 600 block of Basilica Bay Drive in Spring.
While the deputy was speaking with the driver, identified as 21-year-old Eric Lee Wyatt of Missouri City, the vehicle suddenly fled the scene, nearly striking the deputy. The deputy activated emergency lights and siren as the vehicle traveled through nearby business and residential areas east of Interstate 45 before entering the southbound lanes of IH-45 toward Houston.
During the pursuit, the Chevrolet was observed weaving in and out of traffic at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. The vehicle exited the main lanes at Airline Drive in Houston, where it struck another vehicle. With assistance from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect vehicle was stopped a short distance away.
Wyatt was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon against a Peace Officer, Evading Arrest or Detention with a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Marijuana. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed from the scene, and Wyatt was transported to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
Constable Ryan Gable and his deputies would like to thank the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety for their assistance and support in safely bringing this incident to a conclusion.
