Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Suspect in Ongoing Child Sexual Abuse Case in Porter, TX
PORTER, TX -- On February 11, 2026, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported sexual assault at a residence in Porter. Upon arrival, deputies learned that two 10-year-old children had stated they had been sexually abused by their mother’s boyfriend, identified as Joseph Compagnari.
MCSO Special Victims Unit detectives were notified immediately and continued the investigation. Child Protective Services was also notified and began a parallel investigation. On February 12, 2026, the two children were interviewed at Children’s Safe Harbor, where they disclosed multiple incidents of sexual assault involving the suspect.
Following the forensic interviews and sexual assault examinations, and with support from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and the MCSO Digital Forensics team, detectives obtained and executed a residential search warrant and an arrest warrant on the evening of February 12, 2026. With the assistance of the Mont Belvieu Police Department, SVU detectives located and arrested Joseph Compagnari at a residence in Mont Belvieu. He has been charged with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child and is currently being held at the Chambers County jail where he has No Bond.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office commends the bravery of the victims and the coordinated efforts of all agencies involved.
