CLEVELAND, TX -- On February 2, 2026, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office successfully recovered a high-value excavator following a coordinated response in the Cleveland area.

The investigation began when deputies responded to a report of a stolen Caterpillar 303 excavator which had been taken from a construction site near Faulkner Road. Deputies were able to locate the machinery’s location at an abandoned property near Old Highway 105 East.

Upon arrival at the property, deputies observed the stolen excavator along with several other vehicles and trailers. Three individuals fled the scene on foot into the surrounding woods. With the assistance of Montgomery County Constable Deputies from Precinct 3 and Precinct 4, a perimeter was immediately established. MCSO K-9 units arrived and located two of the suspects who were taken into custody.

In addition to the Caterpillar excavator, Investigators with the Auto Theft Task Force recovered a stolen 2005 Chevrolet C1500 which was at the same location.

The arrested suspects have been identified as 31-year-old Taylor Coursey, who was charged with Felony Theft, and 22-year-old Presley Snow, who was charged with Felony Theft and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is actively pursuing the third suspect, whose identity is known to investigators. This case remains an active investigation.
