THE WOODLANDS, TX -- On February 6, 2026, just after 2:00 AM, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 6 Patrol Division responded to a suspicious person call in the Wedgewood Forest Drive area of the Village of Panther Creek, The Woodlands.

The caller reported that multiple individuals were walking through the neighborhood and checking car door handles in private driveways. Upon arrival, MCSO Deputies located two suspects wearing all black clothing and latex gloves. When deputies attempted to stop them, they fled the scene on foot into the surrounding area.

A perimeter was quickly established with the assistance of the City of Conroe Police Department’s K9 Unit. Thanks to the vigilance of local residents who provided real-time information, Deputies and K9 officers successfully tracked and apprehended two juvenile suspects.

Following a field investigation, one juvenile was positively identified by a homeowner as the individual attempting to enter their vehicle and was charged with Attempted Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Evading Arrest. The second juvenile was charged with Evading Arrest.

This is a prime example of the community and law enforcement working together to keep our neighborhoods safe. We want to thank the City of Conroe PD for their vital assistance and, most importantly, the residents who called in the suspicious activity immediately.
