Where did winter go, you may ask yourself. Our weather team has sent out a search party and hopefully will return it safe and sounds as predicted by the groundhog last week, but in the meantime, enjoy an early summer with some fun-lovin’ events. Here’s a list to get you started.

Tuesday, February 17
The Woodlands Children’s Museum’s Boogie Bash presents Mardi Gras Boogie today at 11:00 a.m. They’re celebrating Mardi Gras today with an introduction to New Orleans jazz, a “Second Line” scarf activity, and marching with rhythm instruments. Included in the price of admission, which is $9 for adults and children 1 year and older.

Tuesday, February 17
Laissez les good times roll at Two Tones Dueling Piano Bar as they present Ladies Night: Mardi Gras Musical Bingo. Beads, bops, bingo wins, and Fat Tuesday fun – you already know it’s a party. Grab your girls and come play!

The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Business Advocacy Council presents a ‘Meet the Candidates’ for various offices and a candidate forum with the candidates for Montgomery County Judge. Come meet the candidates running for local, state and federal office. Drop in for an informal come-and-go opportunity to connect and learn about their priorities for our business community. Taking place at the Kevin Brady Community Center and free for all Chamber Members. This event will be simultaneously livestreamed on Woodlands Online’s website.

This interactive class begins in the classroom, where Holly will walk you through key concepts of how light interacts with the face, how to control shadows, and how to work with the tools that elevate natural light photography. This is for photographers of all levels who want to build confidence and creativity when shooting portraits without studio lighting.

It’s Mother-Son Date Night tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Rob Fleming Rec Center. The fee per person is $25 for resident, $30 for non-resident. Join the Township for an evening full of laughter, fun, and connections as moms and sons come together to “Build Memories” that will last a lifetime. Enjoy hands-on activities, crafts, and challenges. If mother can’t attend, maybe grandma, an aunt, or a big sister can! If you have more than one son, great; bring them all. Preregistration required.
