The Players Theatre Company Presents the Rock Opera Classic Jesus Christ Superstar

CONROE, TX -- The Players Theatre Company is proud to announce the premiere of its highly anticipated production of Jesus Christ Superstar, opening March 6 at The Owen Theater in Conroe.

With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, this groundbreaking rock opera explores the final days of Jesus of Nazareth through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Blending powerful storytelling with a contemporary rock score, Jesus Christ Superstar remains one of the most influential works in modern musical theatre, known for its emotional intensity, iconic music, and bold theatrical style.

Directed by Travis Bryant, with musical direction by Casey Burden, the production features choreography by Rick Delancy and Ashleigh Goff, set and lighting design by Kerry Goff, and costume design by Rick Delancy. The production is conducted by Midge Smith and performed live by the Tailor Made Band.

The cast features JT Fischer as Jesus, Jade Kelly as Judas, and Kaylee Duran as Mary Magdalene, supported by a talented company of performers from across the region.

Jonathon Dutweiler as Herod
Jack Peterson as Peter
Zoe Bullard as Simon

The Soul Sisters are portrayed by Amy Barnes, Mackenzy Reilly, and Cindy Siple.

The Apostles include Elijah Breese, Kaleb Cole, Ryan Failde, Alicia Allen, Blake Patton, and Elissa Myers.

The Priests are played by Henry de la Garza, Kimberly Lambright, and Anthony Santopetro, with Hilda Micklethwaite, Corinne Smith, and Carlos Soto appearing in the ensemble.

“This production of Jesus Christ Superstar is deeply theatrical, visually striking, and emotionally immediate,” said director Travis Bryant. “It explores timeless questions about faith, power, sacrifice, and human connection, while allowing audiences to experience this iconic score in a fresh and intimate way at The Owen Theater.”

Performances run March 6–22, 2026, with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM.

All performances take place at The Owen Theater, Conroe, Texas.
