Free Spring Break Fun Returns to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion with The Pavilion’s Arts Break March 9–20, 2026
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Spring Break is about to take center stage at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion as The Pavilion’s Arts Break returns March 9 to 13 and 16 to 20, 2026, bringing five days of free, family friendly performances to the Event Center.
Designed as the perfect out of the house Spring Break activity, Arts Break features both morning and afternoon performances each day, making it easy for families to fit the arts into any schedule. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for engaging pre show activities, followed by performances at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Best of all, every show is completely free with no registration required as part of The Pavilion’s nonprofit mission to provide access to the arts for all.
The week kicks off Monday, March 9, with Mezclada Dance Company’s Percussive Movement, a high energy celebration of rhythm and culture. Featuring live music by Melvin Johnson and The Electro Akoustic, the Houston based dance group explores the powerful connection between percussion and movement across global traditions.
On Wednesday, March 11, audiences can hop aboard for laughter and fun with Great Works Theatre’s stage adaptation of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! Based on the beloved children’s book, this interactive production brings big personalities and even bigger laughs to the stage.
Friday, March 13, welcomes Lucas Miller, The Singing Zoologist, for a multimedia adventure packed with science and song. Kids will explore metamorphosis, pollination, ocean food chains, arthropods and more through hilarious music, dazzling animations and accurate science that keeps young minds engaged.
The fun continues Tuesday, March 17, with Ars Lyrica’s Maria’s Magical Music Adventure. Featuring breathtaking illustrations and a captivating story, audiences travel back in time to Venice, Italy, where Maria meets composer Antonio Vivaldi just after he writes The Four Seasons, inspiring listeners of all ages.
On Wednesday, March 18, The Magik Theatre from San Antonio delivers a fast paced, laugh out loud twist on Red Riding Hood. With just two performers bringing the classic tale to life, this energetic production promises surprises, comedy and nonstop fun.
From dance and theater to science and classical music, The Pavilion’s Arts Break transforms Spring Break into an unforgettable celebration of creativity, discovery and imagination, all at no cost to families.
