Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Honors Certified Nurses

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Did you know? March 19^th marks annual Certified Nurses Day—a day set aside to recognize the nurses who have made a deliberate investment in their profession. This is comparable to the board certification a physician may undergo to reflect their expertise.

Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center, has the privilege of recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Magnet® designated hospital since 2000 and was the first hospital to achieve this in Montgomery County. Last year during their 40^th anniversary, they were recertified a fourth time under the new, higher level of a Magnet with Distinction®-Recognized Nursing Facility. Now, they are proud to share that on Certified Nurses Day, more than 43% of their nurses hold a specialty certification!

Specialty certification is not just a credential behind a nurse’s name. The research is clear: certified nurses demonstrate stronger clinical judgment, identify complications earlier and contribute to measurably better patient outcomes. Studies consistently show that higher rates of certified nurses on a unit are associated with lower rates of failure-to-rescue events, reduced hospital-acquired infections and improved patient satisfaction.

What these nursing professionals have done takes real commitment. They’ve studied, sat for a rigorous exam, and earned a credential that validates the depth of knowledge that they bring to patients every single day. There are even many nurses that hold two or more professional board certifications.

The leaders at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands lead by example. In fact, 100% of the hospital’s nursing directors and above are certified nurses and 94.5% of the hospital’s nursing managers are certified nurses!
