Crime Reduction Unit Identifies Burglary Suspects; One Arrested, One at Large
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Reduction Unit has successfully identified two suspects involved in a vehicle burglary and subsequent credit card fraud. While one suspect is currently in custody, deputies are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the second individual.
The investigation began on March 12, 2026, after a Burglary of a Motor Vehicle was reported at Bear Branch Sports Park located at 5200 Research Forest in The Woodlands. The victim’s wallet was stolen during the incident, and shortly thereafter, her credit cards were used fraudulently at a Target in Harris County and a Walmart in Montgomery County. Deputies with the Crime Reduction Unit were able to obtain video surveillance from both retail locations, which led to the positive identification of 29-year-old Delores Shaffer and 28-year-old Kendia Ware.
Following the identification, units obtained arrest warrants for both suspects on the charge of Felony Credit Card Abuse. On March 19, 2026, the Crime Reduction Unit located Delores Shaffer in Jersey Village, where she was taken into custody and transported back to the Montgomery County Jail.
At this time, Kendia Ware remains at large. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts, please contact the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office at 281-297-6502 and reference case number 26A086432.
