THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Celebrate America 250 with a burst of patriotic fun at the Firecracker 5K along The Woodlands Waterway—a one-time-only, scenic, chip-timed race for all abilities.

In celebration of America 250, The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department invites runners and spectators to bring patriotic energy to The Woodlands Waterway at the Firecracker 5K taking place on Thursday, July 2, 2026, beginning at 7 p.m.

Produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department, the Firecracker 5K is a USA Track and Field (USATF) sanctioned event featuring a scenic, chip-timed course winding along The Woodlands Waterway. Designed for runners of all abilities, the race offers a fun and festive atmosphere that encourages both friendly competition and patriotic spirit. Participants are encouraged to wear celebratory red, white and blue attire.

The event is open to runners ages 10 and older. Awards will be presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as first, second and third place finishers in male and female age groups. While there will be no formal awards ceremony, awards will be distributed onsite following the race. A photo area will also be available for participants.

The $50 registration fee includes a limited addition participant T-shirt, finisher medal and race packet. There will be no race day registration. Per USATF sanction requirements, strollers are not permitted on the course.

Packet pickup will be held at The Woodlands Township Town Hall Board Chambers, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, and Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from noon to 6 p.m. each day.
