Montgomery County Deputies Save Family of Five, Including Toddler, From Early Morning House Fire in Riverbrook-Forest Hill Subdivision
CONROE, TX -- On the morning of March 26, 2026, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office South Patrol Deputies were conducting a routine patrol in the Riverbrook- Forest Hill Subdivision when their attention and swift actions prevented what could have been a tragedy.
While patrolling the 800 block of Brook Hollow Drive, deputies observed what appeared to be smoke coming from a residence. Acting quickly, the deputies turned back to investigate and saw the smoke intensify, filling an upstairs garage apartment.
Recognizing the imminent danger, deputies made contact with the homeowners and alerted them of the fire. Deputies discovered all five occupants were still asleep and were unaware that the home was on fire. This included a two year old child. The deputies confirmed everyone was out of the residence, ensured no one remained inside the garage apartment and assisted the homeowner in moving her vehicle to safety.
Needham Fire & Rescue Engine 4 arrived on scene and promptly extinguished the fire before it could spread any further. Conroe Fire Department personnel also responded to assist.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation; however, early indications do not suggest foul play.
