THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Champion Project (TCP), a nonprofit dedicated to connecting caring adults with youth in foster care through mentoring, tutoring, and literacy programs, celebrated a powerful night of generosity and impact at its recent “Love Big” Gala—raising $337,000, just $13,000 shy of its ambitious $350,000 goal.

The evening marked more than a fundraising milestone. In the days following the Gala, momentum has already translated into meaningful expansion. TCP has begun discussions to launch three new mentoring programs, which will provide approximately 60 additional youth living in staffed facilities with consistent, supportive mentors.

Interest in TCP’s tutoring initiatives has also surged, with new volunteers stepping forward and students signing up for the organization’s summer intern tutoring program.

“We are blown away,” said Elizabeth Chappell, Co-Founder of The Champion Project. “God showed up in a huge way the night of Love Big, and it’s because of every person who was in that room—and all those who prayed, gave, volunteered, and made the night possible.”

The Champion Project serves youth in foster care by fostering relationships that provide stability, encouragement, and academic support. Events like the Love Big Gala are critical in sustaining and expanding these life-changing programs.

Community members who were unable to attend the Gala still have opportunities to get involved. Donations starting at $150 can directly support initiatives such as Book Bus outings, tutoring technology, and mentor events. Supporters are also encouraged to explore volunteer opportunities and learn more about TCP’s mission and programs, including a Summer Volunteer & Intern Program for Tutoring : https://www.thechampionproject.org/fostering-success
