THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Lone Star College-Montgomery students, faculty, staff and families will gather together and join in a celebration of triumph and achievement at the 2026 LSC-Montgomery commencement ceremony.

“One of my greatest honors is to welcome and congratulate our graduates as they cross the stage,” said Dr. De’ Reese Reid-Hart, LSC-Montgomery president. “As we gather during our 30th anniversary year, we are reminded that each graduate represents the strength of a legacy built over three decades.”

The commencement ceremony will take place Friday, May 15 at 6 p.m. at Woodlands Church and will feature a processional, musical performances and a presentation of diplomas.

The commencement address will be given by Dr. David Kennedy, LSC-Montgomery professor of Government and Dr. Stephen Murphy, LSC-Montgomery assistant professor of Government.

“It will be a distinct honor and a pleasure to be able to speak to the students as we celebrate the 30th anniversary and the 2026 graduates of Lone Star College-Montgomery,” said Kennedy who joined the college as a founding faculty member in 1995.

Attendees will also hear from LSC-Montgomery student Eminelys Sanchez-Viera, who will earn an Associate of Arts degree. Sanchez-Viera plans to transfer to a four-year university and pursue a career in advocacy, with the long- term goal of attending law school.

“If there’s one thing I’ve learned in life, it’s that success doesn’t start when life gets easier,” said Sanchez-Viera. “It starts the moment you decide that quitting is no longer an option--even when it’s hard, even when it’s uncomfortable, even when you’re not sure how it’s all going to work out.”
