SPRING, TX -- An afternoon of live music, hometown pride and community support took over City Place in Spring on Saturday, May 9, as students from School of Rock’s elite performance band Limeade took the stage to raise funds for their first multi-state concert tour.

The young musicians delivered a spirited set packed with classic and contemporary rock favorites, showcasing the kind of stage presence and chemistry that already feels beyond their years. The performance served as a fundraiser for an ambitious six-city tour spanning four states — an important milestone that gave the students firsthand experience performing on the road and navigating life as a touring band.

Adding to the excitement, players from the Houston Gamblers made a special appearance to cheer on the rising local talent. The newly revived United Football League franchise spent the afternoon mingling with families, posing for selfies and helping energize the crowd as the students performed through intermittent rain showers. Fans also had the chance to win team merchandise and tickets to upcoming games at Shell Energy Stadium.

Beyond the music, visitors explored a curated outdoor market featuring local artisans and makers, reinforcing the event’s broader focus on supporting emerging creative talent across Houston. At the same time, the Comicpalooza street team was on-site assisting attendees with early badge pickups ahead of the convention’s Memorial Day Weekend return to the George R. Brown Convention Center.

From aspiring young performers chasing their first tour to hometown athletes showing up in support, the event reflected the collaborative community spirit that continues to define weekends at City Place.

All programming takes place on and around The Plaza at 1250 Lake Plaza Drive and is complimentary unless otherwise noted. For updates and details, visit cityplacenow.com or follow along on Instagram @CityPlaceNow.
