MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- The Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU) announces the successful conclusion of a joint narcotics investigation that resulted in a significant fentanyl seizure and lengthy prison sentence.

In November 2024, Constable Ryan Gable’s Criminal Interdiction Unit, the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division (CID), and the Houston Police Department conducted a collaborative investigation that led to the arrest of Cedric Derrell Potts of Houston, Texas, for Manufacturing and Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1.

During the investigation, law enforcement officers seized more than 500 grams of fentanyl, preventing a substantial quantity of this dangerous narcotic from reaching communities throughout the Southeast Texas region.

In June 2026, Cedric Potts plead guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 25 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Constable Ryan Gable and his team would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Houston Police Department for their partnership and assistance throughout the course of this investigation.

“Constable Gable and his team are dedicated to protecting the public from criminals and those that exploit our communities"
