Cloudy and wet days may help keep the temperatures down this week, staving off the inevitable onset of triple-digit highs for a while longer yet. Rain or shine, The Woodlands has some amazing events to keep the summer fun rolling along. Here is a sampling of what you can do.

Tuesday, June 9
Get to know your Fujifilm X series camera at Precision Camera’s Fujifilm X Series Beginner Class. Bring your Fuji camera to class and the staff will talk about buttons, dials, and menus, as well as touch on some of the creative aspects that your camera offers.

It’s Donald Duck Day at The Woodlands Children’s Museum. Meet the delightful Donald Duck and join the fun in singing “Happy 92nd Birthday” to him while posing for photos at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m. Included in the price of admission, which is $10 for adults and children 1 year and older.

The Safe @ Home program is designed for students in 4th through 6th grades who may be staying home alone. Students can expect to learn important safety education and practical tips to help them feel more prepared and confident. The interactive 90 minute program is presented by The Township Neighborhood Services and focuses on Indoor Safety, Outdoor Safety, Online Safety, and Personal Safety. Students will receive a book that they can keep to utilize at home.

Sawyer Park Icehouse presents The World Cup Experience at the premier World Cup launch party headquarters. Presented by Sawyer Park and the Adam Olsen Team. On Thursday enjoy the kickoff party as Mexico takes on South Africa, and Friday as Team USA takes on Paraguay.

Montgomery County Food Bank invites the community to leave hunger in the dust at its annual Outrun Hunger event, presented by H-E-B. Runners and walkers of all ages can join the fun from 7:00 - 10:00 a.m. at The Lake House at Grand Central Park in Conroe. Outrun Hunger has grown into one of Montgomery County’s signature community runs for hunger relief, offering something for every pace. Competitive runners can take on the timed 5K Trail Run or the all-new 8K Trail Run, while the untimed 1K Color Dash brings pure, colorful fun for the whole family. The fun doesn't stop at the finish line. More than 400 runners and community members are expected to fill The Lake House at Grand Central Park, and Outrun Hunger's Party Pavilion keeps the energy going all morning with live music, food trucks, a kids’ zone, vendors, photo ops, and more. All proceeds benefit Montgomery County Food Bank’s programs for feeding children, seniors, and families in need across the county.
