THE WOODLANDS, TX -- This morning, between 09:30 and 11:00, the Woodlands area received almost 6 inches of rain, resulting in flash flooding on numerous roads in the heart of The Woodlands. Between 1030 and 1130, The Woodlands Fire Department responded to 12 water rescue calls involving vehicles stranded in high water (several of the calls involved multiple vehicles) and 3 other flood-related calls, including several homes on N. Woodstock that experienced minor flooding. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. Remember the rule “Turn around, don’t drown” and also consider the financial implications of flooding by adding “Turn around and save yourself from thousands of dollars of car repairs.”!
