Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Honors Deputy Erika Serrato with No Refusal DWI Weekend Enforcement

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- This Independence Day weekend, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is launching a strict No Refusal DWI Task Force Initiative.

This operation isn't just about enforcement; it’s deeply personal. Recently, our agency and community suffered an unimaginable tragedy with the loss of our own Deputy Erika Serrato, who was killed while working a DWI crash. This weekend’s operation is being conducted in her honor. We will protect her memory, and we will protect our roads.

Our message to anyone visiting or living in Montgomery County is entirely clear: If you choose to drink and drive this weekend, we will find you, we will arrest you and you will go to jail.

Under the No Refusal initiative, judges and prosecutors will be working around the clock to expedite blood-search warrants for anyone who refuses a breath or blood test.

We will not tolerate any more innocent lives being stolen by the deadly, selfish choice to drive impaired.
