For many, school starts this week (those lucky Tomball ISD students and staff get to stretch out the summer break an extra seven days), but that doesn’t mean summer fun isn’t still on the schedule. Here’s a list of some great events to help shake off those summertime blues,

Tuesday, August 11
Get to know your Fujifilm X series camera at Precision Camera’s Fujifilm X Series Beginner’s Class. Bring your Fuji camera to class and the trained staff will talk about buttons, dials, and menus, and also touch on some of the creative aspects that your camera offers.

Today at The Woodlands Children’s Museum at 11:00 a.m., meet an opera singer in this introductory combination of recital, presentation, and a Q&A session with a Houston Grand Opera Teaching Artist. Children can enjoy singing, learning about what it’s like to be an opera singer, and discovering the art of the opera. Included in the price of admission, which is $10 for adults and children 1 year and older.

Thursday night at The Blue Lion Pub is Girls Night Out Karaoke hosted by DJ TJ with Houston Party Network. Grab the crew, your willingness to sing in front of strangers, and a thirst for tasty adult beverages. The fun happens 7:00 - 11:00 p.m.

Get ready for an unforgettable night of your favorite '80s hits as The Spicolis take the stage at Sawyer Park Icehouse.
