Attorney General Ken Paxton Announces Distribution of 7 Million Free Eggs to Texans Across the State

AUSTIN, TX -- Attorney General Ken Paxton announced progress in fulfilling the statewide distribution of over 7 million free eggs that were secured through settlements with three national egg producers. More than 1.7 million eggs have already been delivered to Texas food banks, with another 5.322 million scheduled for delivery in the coming weeks.

In June 2026, Attorney General Ken Paxton secured settlements with Cal-Maine Foods, Centrum/Versova, and Hickman’s Egg Ranch. These settlements resolved antitrust claims brought by the Trump Administration’s Department of Justice and other state attorneys general that stemmed from an alleged conspiracy to inflate egg prices between 2022 and 2025. Under the agreements, the companies will donate 7 million eggs to Texas food banks. Additionally, the companies will pay a combined $3.3 million to participating states.

“After securing 7 million eggs for the people of Texas, I am excited to announce that Texans will now have an opportunity to receive cartons of free eggs in communities across the state,” said Attorney General Paxton. “I will continue to help our families put food on the table and do everything within my power to lower prices and help Texans who are struggling to make ends meet.”

These ongoing deliveries are being coordinated in partnership with Feeding Texas, which is the largest hunger-relief organization in Texas. Seventeen different food banks are participating. Details of the specific donations are below:

North Texas Food Bank in Plano will receive 842,400 eggs; Tarrant Area Food Bank in Fort Worth will receive 842,400 eggs; Food Bank of West Central Texas in Abilene will receive 140,400 eggs; Wichita Falls Area Food Bank in Wichita Falls will receive 140,400 eggs; East Texas Food Bank in Tyler will receive 280,800 eggs; Central Texas Food Bank in Austin will receive 561,600 eggs; San Antonio Food Bank in San Antonio will receive 464,600 eggs; Houston Food Bank in Houston will receive 1,544,400 eggs; Coastal Bend Food Bank in Corpus Christi will receive 280,800 eggs; El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank in El Paso will receive 280,800 eggs; Food Bank of the Golden Crescent in Victoria will receive 140,400 eggs; High Plains Food Bank in Amarillo will receive 140,400 eggs; South Plains Food Bank in Lubbock will receive 140,400 eggs; West Texas Food Bank in Odessa will receive 280,800 eggs; Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley in Pharr will receive 561,600 eggs; South Texas Food Bank in Laredo will receive 280,800 eggs; Southeast Texas Food Bank in Beaumont will receive 140,400 eggs.
