Two Exceptional Private Gardens in Houston Open Their Gates on October 10
HARRIS COUNTY, TX -- The Garden Conservancy’s signature Open Days program returns to Harris County on Saturday, October 10, offering rare access to two distinctive private landscapes in Houston. Visitors can explore these hidden urban retreats and experience firsthand the artistic choices, horticulture, and personal vision behind each curated space.
Participating Houston gardens include:
-
Kyle-Lasseter Garden (Museum District): Inspired by vernacular Southern landscapes, this refined backyard sanctuary centers around a circular pool set in a manicured lawn. Repurposed brick pathways frame lush planted beds and an eclectic container collection, creating an inviting architectural flow.
-
Mi Santuario: Framing a classic historic bungalow, this vibrant backyard oasis features a rich landscape that has evolved thoughtfully over many years. The garden doubles as a whimsical animal sanctuary, featuring a lively mix of living fauna alongside sculpted birds and wildlife.
