SPRING, TX -- More than 1,000 guests dressed in white gathered at City Place, as Dîner en Blanc brought its signature blend of dining, music and celebration to waterfront City Place Park, located at the heart of the north Houston community's mixed-use urban core.

The celebrated pop-up picnic, which takes place at a new, undisclosed location each fall, transformed the picturesque venue into a sea of white, with elegantly decorated tables, elaborate place settings and guests showcasing their personal interpretations of the event's all-white dress code. The crisp autumn weather provided an ideal backdrop for an evening of food, entertainment and socializing under the stars.

Adding another element of surprise and wonder was City Place's Roaming Gnomes public art exhibition, featuring eight giant illuminated pieces created by Amigo & Amigo, an internationally acclaimed creative studio based in Sydney, Australia.. The whimsical installations provided an unexpected contrast to the evening's chic tablescapes, creating playful photo opportunities and adding to the festive atmosphere.

Originating in Paris in 1988, Le Dîner en Blanc has become an international phenomenon known for its secret locations, communal dining experience and distinctive traditions. This year's Houston gathering welcomed attendees from across the city, including members of Houston's diplomatic, arts, business, and philanthropic communities.

Among those in attendance were Frank Marchetti, Consul General of France in Houston, fellow consular representative Charlotte Montel, and other familiar faces from Houston's social and creative circles, including Don Mafrige Jr., Vivian Wise, Stefani Farris, Shannon Hall, Rosalinda Moore, Marcus Sloan, JD Adamson, Angel Rios, Tony Gibson and DeWayne Compton.

The evening began with the traditional waving of white napkins to signal the start of dinner, followed by live performances from saxophonist Theresa Grayson and the Spud Howard Band, along with music from DJ Reeks. Culinary highlights included offerings from Nuksy's and Houston City Place Marriott’s SwitcHouse Catering, wine service by Finn Houston, and activations from partners including Prive, Guzel Cakes and Maison Veil.

As the evening progressed, guests moved from dinner to dancing, with a festive LED light moment set to Beyoncé's "Before I Let Go" providing a memorable finale.

“An event of this scale takes months of thoughtful planning and coordination, and it was exciting to see it all come together so beautifully,” said Houston producer Rosalind (Roz) Moore of Perfect Touch Promotions. “This marked the first time City Place has hosted a seated outdoor dinner of this magnitude, providing a wonderful opportunity to showcase the versatility of the destination.”

True to Le Dîner en Blanc tradition, the event location remained a secret until shortly before guests arrived. At the conclusion of the celebration, attendees packed up their tables and belongings, leaving the park as they found it.

The gathering further showcased City Place Park as a centerpiece of the community's mixed-use urban core, where waterfront green spaces, public art, restaurants, hotels and an ongoing calendar of cultural programming create opportunities for Houstonians to connect and explore.
