Petco Love Brings the Joy of Pet Adoption to Houston with 1,500 Pets at Major Event, In Partnership with The Cat in the Hat

HOUSTON, TX -- National nonprofit, Petco Love, invites animal lovers in Houston to “Jump into Joy” and meet adoptable shelter pets looking for loving homes. The Jump into Joy Pet Adoption Event at Reliant Arena will bring together 1,500+ adoptable dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens from 24 Petco Love partner animal welfare organizations on November 7th and 8th.

The flagship Jump into Joy Pet Adoption Event is part of Petco Love’s national adoption weekend. The nonprofit organization is joining forces with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation for a national adoption campaign inspired by the new full-length animated The Cat in the Hat (In theaters November 6), inviting people to embrace the joy, laughter, and unexpected adventures that come with bringing a pet into their lives through adoption from local shelters and rescues. Throughout this weekend, animal lovers can also meet adoptable pets in their communities at participating Petco locations and shelters.

“Like The Cat in the Hat, pets have a way of turning an ordinary day into an adventure,” said Petco Love President Chelsea Staley. “With 1,500 adoptable pets and more than 20 of our shelter and rescue partners coming together in Houston, pet lovers have an incredible opportunity to find a new family member —and bring home more love, laughter and fun. We’re excited to help make this a weekend full of new beginnings.”

The Jump into Joy Pet Adoption Event at Reliant Arena is on November 7th and November 8th from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at 1 NRG Parkway in Houston. Adopters will find low fees on Saturday, waived adoption fees on Sunday, and photo-opportunities when they find their new family member. Fast passes are available Saturday only for $100, allowing adopters in early from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
