Market Street Celebrates 19th Annual “Market Street in Lights” Christmas Tree Lighting on November 19
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The lighting of the 70-foot Christmas tree in Central Park will officially kick off the holiday season at the 19th Annual Market Street in Lights on Thursday, November 19 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The lighting of the Christmas tree with help from emcees Nick Wolda, President of Visit The Woodlands; and Noemi Gonzalez, Market Street General Manager, will ignite Market Street’s three-minute light show. This dazzling display of flashing, multi-colored lights is synchronized to favorite holiday songs along with a festive spray of “snow” and confetti. The JoiLux Band will entertain attendees with holiday favorites from 6:00 – 8:30 pm. Market Street tenants will also be participating, adding surprise and delights throughout the evening.
Special guests at this year’s celebration will include Anna, Elsa, Olaf, The Grinch, Martha May Whovier, Cindy Lou Who, Buddy the Elf and Jovie Elf in addition to balloon artists, face painters and other roaming performers.
Sponsored by Sewell, Texas Children’s Hospital - The Woodlands and Rockefeller Global Family Office, Market Street in Lights will attract hundreds to witness the first “performance” of Market Street’s Christmas tree. A stilt walker will entertain guests thanks to Thomas Markle Jewelers and H-E-B will provide water and cookies. The light shows with more than 25,000 multi-colored lights continue nightly throughout the holiday season every hour on the half hour, from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
REES (an architecture, planning and interior design firm) and Market Street invite the community to support the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive benefiting Interfaith of The Woodlands. November 11 through November 19, donations of nonperishable food including canned holiday favorites and pantry staples, as well as personal care items, will be accepted to help support local families during the holiday season. Donations can be dropped off in the lobby of Building 6 behind Sunglass Hut or at the REES office located in Market Street on the second floor of Building 6.
