LSC-University Park fuels summer youth learning on campus

Hosted at LSC-University Park, Harris County Precinct One’s RideONE program provided students with free helmets and hands-on training in bike safety, riding skills, and maintenance.
Campers explored real-world science applications during the Secret Agent Lab session of Mad Science’s STEM Camp, held at LSC-University Park, where they used forensic techniques to solve hands-on mysteries.
LSC-University Park faculty and students in the Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) program led the annual Lions Summer Reading Program for students exiting grades 2–6. The program aims to close summer learning gaps through fun, literacy-rich activities that boost reading confidence and prepare students for the upcoming school year.
In collaboration with Rice University, LSC-University Park faculty guided students through STEAMotion Camp, bringing engineering, earth science, and creative problem-solving to life through hands-on activities—including a geology sandbox that simulates terrain and altitude mapping.
