HS Football Player of the Game: Klein at The Woodlands - 10/13/18

Linkedin

The Woodlands Highlanders, with an unbeaten record in District 15-6A, will host the Klein Bearkats Saturday 13 at Woodforest Bank Stadium. For the second week in a row, the Highlanders will look for a Saturday night win after defeating Klein Cain 54-7.

The Highlanders defense continues to impress with their stingy style of play. Coach Jim Rapp’s defense hasn’t allowed more than 20 points during their four-game win streak. In last week’s win over Klein Cain, the Highlanders forced four turnovers that lead to scores, including a 65-yard interception return for a touchdown by Carter Doucet. The junior also recovered a Hurricane fumble last Saturday.

Notable players to keep an eye on for the Highlanders, Austin Winfield (Defensive Back) Malik Johnson (Wide Receiver) Casey Sunseri (Quarterback) Ben Mills (Quarterback) PJ Villarreal (Wide Receiver) Bryeton Gilford (Running Back) Orrin Bizer (Linebacker) Carter Doucet (WR/DB) Ben Langston (Saftey) and Fabrizio Pinton (Kicker).

The Woodlands defense will have an intense district test this week as the Bearkats can put a significant amount of points on the scoreboard. Quarterback Bryce Corriston has led his team to three 50-plus point games this year and are currently on a two-game winning streak.
