About Us
The South Montgomery County Friends of the Library is a non-profit and non-policy organization, dedicated to creating awareness in the community of the specific needs of the library and its function as a cultural and educational asset to South Montgomery County.
The SMC Friends of the Library support the library through our service and fund-raising efforts. Volunteers often assist the library staff with routine tasks. With the income earned from our Gift Shop and the bi-annual Used Book Sales, we have purchased furniture, computers, books, videos, CDs and have provided additional funding for special programs and the children's programs at the library.
If you enjoy meeting people who love to read, have some free time to volunteer, if you appreciate the privileges of excellent library services and understand the importance of maintaining them, if you would like to make a difference in your community or if you just want to make some new friends who share a common bond, please join us.
